Wilderness Escape – Day 1

IMG_3933

Moses led the Children of Israel through the Red Sea at the first night of Wilderness Escape Vacation Bible School.  Best of all, the children of the community and congregation had the opportunity to get to know more about God’s love and that we can trust in the Lord.

You can still participate in Vacation Bible School at MLLC in Carmine. Come on out Tuesday through Friday.  We begin Day 2 at 5:30 p.m.  We are having a great time and would love to have you be part of our great time together.  Thank you to God for our great time.  Thank you to parents, grandparents, friends and supporters who make it possible for this great week of learning and outreach to happen.

Our Final Program will be at worship on Sunday, July 27, at 9 a.m.

Triple Baptism – April 19

Vigil 14 Baptism 1

At the Great Vigil of Easter – Saturday, April 19, 2014, we welcomed three new Christians into God’s family:  Tonia, Ally and Judd.  Each of these received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the Vigil.  We are very thankful for God’s gift of faith and the work he is already doing in the lives of these three.  As newly baptized Christians they are also new members of MLLC.  Ally and Tonia also received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time as Christians at this service.  It was a joyful evening for all involved.

Check out this page to learn more about our Great Vigil of Easter.

The Great Vigil of Easter is the ancient time when New Christians have been baptized.  Every year, including 2014, thousands of people are baptized all over the world at  Great Vigil of Easter services such as we had at MLLC.  Many congregations also use this special service to receive new members into the congregation.  My own son was baptized at the Great Vigil of Easter in 2004 at the congregation I served in North Liberty, Indiana, at that time.

Here are some more photos from the baptisms of Tonia, Ally and Judd on April 19.

Lutherhill at MLLC on March 30

Lutherhill Mar2514 website

Members of the staff of Lutherhill Ministries will be leading our Sunday School programming on Sunday, March 30, at 10:10 a.m.  At MLLC we have enjoyed the ministries of Lutherhill for many years.  Some years they have helped us lead our Vacation Bible School (see photo above of Lutherhill staff, parent volunteers and children from our 2009 VBS).  A few times each year we invite our friends at Lutherhill to lead special programs with our children’s Sunday School.  This weekend is one of those special Sunday visits.

Lutherhill Ministries is an excellent Lutheran camping and retreat ministry headquartered in our own Fayette County, Texas.

Bring your family this weekend to worship at 9 a.m., and then join in the fun and learning at 10:10 a.m. with the delightful staff of Lutherhill Ministries.

New Playground Equipment is Ready

Playground Complete Mar2414

Celebrating our Renewed Playground

We are excited about the renewal of our playground at MLLC.  This past week we completed the installation on the new equipment and the addition of more gravel.  Thank you to those who donated time or money to make this renewal possible.  The children of the Martin Luther Lutheran School and the Sunday School are already enjoying the renewed playground.

A Blessing for the Little Ones

The main playground of Martin Luther Lutheran Church is getting a major addition.  The new playground equipment is being installed this week.  The old equipment was deteriorating significantly and was in need of replacement.  Now the children of our Sunday School and the Martin Luther Lutheran School (MLLS) will have fresh and more exciting play equipment for recess and play times.

We are very thankful to the the great number of generous donors who have given memorial gifts to MLLS in recent years.  Through their kindness the congregation has been able to pay for the equipment and for professional installation of the new set.  Thank you all very much for your donations, prayers and support.  The kids are going to love it!

We will have more photos soon of the completed set up.
