At this time, we do not have a permanent pastor. We are blessed to be served by dedicated supply pastors who bring their passion and faith to our congregation during this interim period. Karen Freeman Springer, Bob Springer’s wife, and I were college roommates at HPC, and I was a bridesmaid in their 1965 wedding! I was from Hawaii’i, and spent my first Christmas away from home in Houston with Karen’s family, as well as several other visits with them – they were like family to me!
Karen and I lost track of each other – in about 1972 or so through moves, etc. I’ve looked off and on through the years – on Facebook, on-line searches, and even through Howard Payne, but unsuccessfully – until today when I sadly discovered Robert’s obituary.
I hope you can help reunite me with Karen – I see you are leaving the church in Carmine in a couple of weeks to accept another congregation in Seguin, so I know this is a busy time for you. From Robert’s obit, I learned you conducted his memorial service, and that apparently they (or maybe only he?) attended the MLLC congregation. I am writing a letter to Karen, and had planned to send it to MLLC, requesting it be forwarded to her, hoping you have contact with her, or know her whereabouts, and could make that happen. If you have contact with her, I’d appreciate your sharing my contact information with her.
I also discovered information about the Bob Springer Memorial Classic Car Show, that happens around Valentine’s Day, but it was for 2024. It has an email contact, and that was my second line of action I was going to try to use if I was unsuccessful with an attempt through MLLC.
