Remembering Elvira Dallmeyer – known to many as “Tante Vira”. She died on Saturday, October 27. Her funeral will be at the church on Friday, November 2, at 2:00 p.m.

Obituary
Elvira Lilly (Korth) Dallmeyer
Elvira Dallmeyer, 95, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 1st from 5-7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2nd at 2 p.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine with Rev. David Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in LaBahia Cemetery.
Elvira Lilly (Korth) Dallmeyer was born near Carmine on July 20, 1923 to Ewald and Clara (Schroeder) Korth. She was baptized December 30, 1923 and confirmed March 21, 1937, both at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine. She attended Carmine School.
On December 16, 1945, Elvira was united in marriage to Fred Dallmeyer at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the Dallmeyer family homestead. She and her husband farmed and ranched. In later years, they enjoyed traveling on bus tours. After Fred’s death in 1987, Elvira continued ranching and raising the cattle that she loved.
Elvira was a gifted seamstress and also sewed rice bags and door stops. She gardened and canned the produce. Her coffee cakes and peach cobblers were savored by many. She enjoyed her pet bird Jessie.
Elvira was a very giving person. She volunteered time at Fishes and Loaves and quilted with Martin Luther Lutheran and St. John UCC church quilting groups.
She was a lifelong and the oldest member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine. She was also a member of Burton Hermann Sons Life, Burton Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and Martin Luther Ladies Aide.
Elvira enjoyed playing dominoes with the 42 Club in Carmine.
Elvira was preceded in death by parents, husband, brother Delton Korth, brother and sister-in-law Clinton and Bettie Korth, sister-in-law Ora Nell Dallmeyer, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Irene and Weldon Matthies, nephews David Matthies and Dale Matthies.
Elvira had no children of her own, but was blessed to be a special “Tanta Vera” to nephew Darrell Matthies and wife Kay, numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Matthies, Lance Matthies, Carl Matthies, Tim Cloud, Russell Shay, Darren Derkowski, Jason Jaster, and Jody Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be her 42 Club Friends.
