We give thanks for the life and ministry of Dwayne Garlin. His funeral will be at MLLC at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Dwayne Allen Garlin
May 27, 1967 – December 16, 2017
Dwayne Allen Garlin was born May 27, 1967 in Houston, Texas to Delbert Bartel and Waldine Weyand Garlin. He was baptized August 27, 1967 by Pastor Alfred Doerfler, and confirmed July 12, 1981 by Pastors Larry Beck and Harvey Bongers, both at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellaire, Texas. His confirmation verse was 1 Peter1:3—Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
On May 23, 1992, he married Theresa Rosenbaum at Martin Lutheran Church, in Carmine.
Dwayne worked at Kieke Egg Farm until becoming a sales rep for Burton Sausage. Dwayne and Theresa owned 4G Country Store in Carmine, until recently. Dwayne was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine, the RT-C Young Farmers, Fayette County Wildlife Coop and the Fayette Co. Farm Bureau. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hay baling. Dwayne was an avid Astros and Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed making barbecue, and was known to never miss his sons’ sporting events. He supported the Carmine Volunteer Fire Dept. by helping with the annual fried chicken fundraiser.
Dwayne died December 16, 2017 in Brenham at the age of 50.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; sons, Hayden and Cole, all of Ledbetter; mother, Waldine Garlin of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Jeff Flinn of Burton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Karen Rosenbaum of Burton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeremy and Stephanie Rosenbaum of Burton; grandparents-in-law Daniel and Ila Kieke of Burton, and Eddie and Ella Mae Love of Brenham; and several nieces and nephews.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Garlin; grandparents Nelda and Ollie Weyand, and Robert and Vesta Garlin.
Serving as pallbearers are Emil Sodolak, Eric Weyand, Deric Weyand, Clint Etzel, Eddie Marburger, Marvin Marburger, Brandon Goeke, Luke Sternadel, Jeremy Rosenbaum, and Jeff Flinn. Honorary pallbearers are his hunting buddies, his hay hauling buddies, and the 4G “crew”.
